Graceful Stitches Grand Opening Shop to Donate all Profits to Cancer Research

Graceful Stitches is a non-profit organization run by women whose lives have been directly changed by cancer, with a goal to raise funds through the sale of elegant, hand-made scarves and accessories.

Medfield, MA April 1, 2004 - With a first store opening set for Saturday, April 3rd, 2004, Graceful Stitches of Medfield, MA, will be a full service yarn shop selling yarn and knitting supplies as an expansion of the founders mission. Originally based upon home party sales, Graceful Stitches has grown to include nearly 100 people from across the United States, having raised nearly $80,000 in the first fifteen months.

Fully run by volunteers, all of Graceful Stitches profits will continue to be donated to help those suffering from cancer and to support groups seeking to find a cure. The spirit of this organization continues to be to turn tragedies into triumphs, one stitch at a time.

Supported by a growing number of volunteer knitters from around the country, Graceful Stitches has a primary goal of raising funds through the sale of elegant, hand-made scarves. Woven together towards a common goal, Graceful Stitches enthusiastic volunteers have contributed their time, their talent and financial support to help their non-profit achieve this current level of success.

A Small, Cozy Knitting Shop
Located in the center of Medfield, Massachusetts, at 505 Main Street, the store will be centrally located for those wishing to purchase knitting supplies and elegant hand-knit items. Also chosen to provide a location for local volunteers to gather, old and new friends can come together with the common goal of wanting to make a difference in the lives of those who have been touched by cancer.

Future Online Expansion
In addition to the retail store location, Graceful Stitches plans to continue to improve their website so those out of area can purchase both their knitting supplies and hand-knit items on-line.
